In this post I will show you how to make a neck cowel
This neck cowel is for adult wamen size
This one is for 3 years old child
so you can make this cowel for any size you want,
I have found the video turiturial for this cowel in a spanish youtube channel , and because I am not fluent in spanish , there might be a slight difference
:so let`s start
:Materials
(2colors of yarn (I used medium size
In spanish video she used a thin yarn and smaller size hook
4mm crochet hook
Tapestry needle
scissor
You can use any size yarn and the suitable hook for it
:procedures
In this post I am doing the cowel for adult woman , you can make the cowel in different sizes given
(First chain 34 (make chains till the desired length
Row 1
In the second chain after the hook make 1 single crochet and in each chain along till the end
Row 2
Turn your work
chain 1
Working in the back loops only make 1 single crochet in each stitch till the end of row
Repeat row2 till the desired width
Then you will seal the 2 sides together and the beginning yarn should be at your left side
Take the front loop of the stitch and the other front loop of the corresponding stitch and make a slip stitch
And repeat that till the end
Turn the piece inside out
Then we will begin the lower part of the cowel
Round 1
You will work the stitches at the end of each row
(chain 3 (as the 1st dc
Then make 1 dc in the next spot
(In the next spot , make (1 dc , 2 chains , 1 dc
in the same place
Then make 1 dc in the next 4 spots*
**(In the next spot , make (1dc , chain 2 , 1dc in the same place
Repeat from * to ** till the last 2 spots make 1 dc in the next 2 spots
Then slip stitch in the 3rd chain of the 3 chains at the beg.
Round 2
Slip stitch at the next dc
(chain 3 (as 1st dc
1dc in next dc
In space make 1dc, 3 chains , 1dc in the same space
1dc in the next 2 dc*Skip the next 2 dc
1dc in the next 2 dc
**In space 1 dc , 3 chains , 1 dc in the same space
Repeat from * to ** till the end of round
Skip the last dc at the end of the rnd
.Then slip stitch in the 3rd chain at the beg
Round 3
Slip stitch in the next dc
(chain 3 (as 1st dc
1dc in the next 1 dc
In space , make 2 dc , chain 3 , 2 dc in the same place
1dc in the next 2 dc then skip the next 2 dc then make 1 dc in the*
** next 2 dc then in space make 2 dc , 3 chains , 2 dc
Repeat from * to ** till the end of rnd
Skip the last dc in the rnd
.Then slip stitch in the 3rd chain of the 3 chains at the beg
Fasten off
Round 4
Add the other color in the dc after the 3 chains of the previous rnd
(chain 3 (as the 1st dc
Make 1 dc in the next 2 dc
In space make 2 dc , 2 chains , 2 dc
Then make 1 dc in the next 3 dc*
Skip the next 2 dc
1dc in the next 3 dc
**In space make 2 dc , 2 chains , 2 dc
Repeat from * to ** till the end of rnd
Skip the last dc in the rnd
.Then slip stitch in the 3rd chain of the 3 chains in the beg
Fasten off
This round will be at the peripheral part of the cowel and you can see it in the video below
Add the 2nd color in any spot
Then chain 3 (as 1st dc) then make in the same spot (2dc , 2 chains ,3 dc) in the same spot
Then skip the next 3 spots*
**In the 4th spot make (3 dc , 2 chains , 3 dc) in the same spot
Repeat from * to ** till the end of round
At the end skip the last 3 spots then slip stitch at the 3rd chain of the 3 chains at the beg. of rnd
Fasten off
Weave in ends
